Dina Levačić becomes 12th person in the world to achieve Original Triple Crown

In yet another remarkable achievement, Croatian open water swimmer Dina Levačić has just become the 12th person in the world to complete the Original Triple Crown. 

Dina successfully crossed the Bristol Channel, situated between England and Wales, on Wednesday, which was the final step in completing the Original Triple Crown. 

The shortest straight path from one point to another is 27 km, however, due to strong currents in the area, Dina swam a total of 42 km.

Enduring a gruelling swim that lasted 9 hours, 51 minutes, and 42 seconds, which was a female record, Dina showcased her extraordinary determination and stamina. The sea’s average temperature stood at 17.5°C, and it’s important to note that she accomplished this feat without the assistance of a wetsuit. 

Adhering to the regulations governing such swims, Dina undertook this remarkable journey clad only in a standard swimsuit.

“I just completed the Bristol Channel and in record time from England to Wales. It was very challenging I must say with a lot of waves from the start which was to be expected from this channel. I am very satisfied and I have become the 12th person in the world now to complete the original triple crown,” Dina said after the swim.

The Original Triple Crown consists of swimming across the English Channel, the North Channel, and the Bristol Channel. Dina had swam the English Channel and the North Channel earlier. 

Earlier this year, Dina became the 23rd person ever and the only Croatian to complete the Oceans Seven, which is a marathon swimming challenge consisting of the 7 largest and most difficult channels in the world.

Last month she completed the Irish Triple Crown.
