At the steps beside the Bonavia Plava Laguna Hotel in Rijeka, with a staggering thirteen fashion shows, Croatia’s biggest fashion event celebrated its fifteenth year.
From the Dante terrace at Dr. Vivian Estetic’s Corner, well-known personalities such as Danijela Gračan, Vojko Obersnel, Ronald Braus, Vivian Jurković, reported live on Channel Ri television. The event was graced by the presence of the Škoda Enyaq Coupe RS iV SUV, the official vehicle of the event from Porsche Rijeka, at the square below the beautiful stone steps.
The 15th Riječke stepenice (Rijeka steps) program was hosted by Davor Garić and Ivana Delač. The fashion shows were presented by Nikolina Minovska, Miss Universe Croatia Andrea Erjavec, Miss Croatia Tea Mlinarić, Queen of Croatia Ema Gračan, Miss Zagreb Lucija Begić, Misses of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County Lana Krnić and Andrea Bošnjak, Miss Sport Croatia Borna Mohač, and former Mister World Phillip Kleva, among many others.
Vesna Sposa opened the 15th edition of Croatia’s biggest fashion event with her fashion show. Her latest collection was inspired by Barbie mania, exuding luxury and glamour throughout. Lux Camicie by Irena Anđelić Devčić presented the “Women of the Mediterranean” collection, embodying women’s uninhibited nature, natural beauty, and unique temperament, all exuding sensuality and charm.
The designer Kristina Zorčić found inspiration for her “Elements by GiVa” collection in nature, focusing on the four basic elements: water, fire, earth, and air. Her collection mainly featured tulle, lace, and satin, with each element symbolizing emotions translated into her unique design language.
At the 15th Riječke stepenice fashion show, Butik Rival and Senka Mitrović presented a mini collection inspired by trendy colors and cuts, designed for special occasions, aiming to leave a lasting impression with handmade clothing. Damir TAU, a Rijeka-based brand known for quality, accessibility, diversity, and tolerance, showcased its dresses for the first time on the Rijeka Stairs.
The brand’s colors, reflecting the Rijeka flag, are associated with energy, strength, passion, desire, love, happiness, joy, trust, self-confidence, and sincerity.
Ghetaldus Optika Rijeka presented the Christian Lacroix and RAY-BAN Reverse collection. Lacroix’s design combines luxury and carefree spirit, with a preference for handcrafting, fringes, pearls, and embroidery. Ghetaldus Rijeka also introduced the world’s first concave lens, a revolutionary design that transforms classic Ray-Ban icons into a never-before-seen shape.
The unique production technology changes the conventional lens from convex to concave, providing sharp and precise vision.
The Italian School of Fashion and Design, Callegari, drew inspiration from the Flapper Girls era, which is a century-old era characterized by cheerful women who defied traditional norms and behaviors, primarily by engaging in activities previously exclusive to or predominantly done by men.
They adapted the fashion of that time to modern fashion expressions while utilizing elements like satin, lace, and, especially, sequins, feathers, and glitter to evoke the spirit of that joyful era that never ends. Callegari School students from Rijeka, including Edita Bušljeta, Irena Kukuljan, Marina Koprek, Laura Prpić, Lili Marinković, and Ivana Bolković, showcased their creations, complemented by Bolkica handbags.
La Tramp, by designer Lana Trampus, introduced a new collection called “Satisfaction.” The autumn-winter collection includes large flap-over bags designed for various occasions, from casual to business or elegant looks. They exude color harmony and feature newspaper and musical note details. Each bag tells a unique story while emphasizing the importance of eco-friendly materials.
The Lav Lux LC collection draws inspiration from timeless elegance and classical feminine beauty. Elegant models are crafted from fine materials, invoking a wonderful feminine sensuality and understated style. Zorana Rogošić, the designer, reflects her love for the beauty of classic elegance from bygone eras and an essential dose of glamour in her work.
The key features of the young Croatian brand Calico Mood are elegant cuts, versatility for various occasions, and a perfect construction that deviates from classic tailoring. These motifs are evident in their new collection, where the main focus is on selecting materials that are skin-friendly, all made from natural materials.
The Rijeka School of Commerce and Fashion Design showcased the final works of clothing design graduates. The models were inspired by various themes and can be worn on different occasions. We saw how these students perceive wedding dresses, pirate-inspired dresses, mythological beings, and similar motifs. The models were complemented by handbags made from fabric remnants, using a wire mesh as a base for crafting.
The fashion house VARTEKS closed the 15th Riječke stepenice. “Classic with a fashion twist” aptly describes each Varteks model. Seeking security and lasting value, Varteks turned to tried-and-true, ever-desirable clothing pieces. The dominant features were natural fabrics of high composition and quality, precisely shaped forms, carefully selected patterns, and structures forming the basis of the women’s and men’s Varteks collections.
The Textile and Leather Section of the Rijeka Craftsmen Association is an extremely active section within the Rijeka Craftsmen Association, bringing together craftsmen and craftswomen in the textile and leather processing sector within the association’s operating areas in Rijeka, Bakar, Kraljevica, Čavle, and Kostrena. Members of the Textile and Leather Section participate in various events, including the Rijeka Stairs, where they have been presenting their creations for years.
Members of the Rijeka Craftsmen Association, along with guests from other associations participating in the 15th Rijeka Stairs, include Sandra Jamić – Ela Tailoring Services, Željkica Kezić – D’image Tailoring Salon, Patrizia Sertić – My Leather Story, Senka Mitrović – Butik Rival, Tajana Tepšić – Little Atelier TT, Adriana Rajčić Design, Gorana Nedić – Miau Couture, Marinela Martinčić Knez – Ella Tailoring Salon, Jasminka Blečić – OK Design Tailoring and Service Craft, and Maja Perman – Ma’at Fashion Atelier.
The upcoming hair trends were presented by stylists from Studio Perman. “Side parts emphasizing elegant long waves are often seen on Hollywood red carpets. This time, they are adorned with golden glitter, adding a touch of glamour and high shine to the hair. These emphasized hair sections have been a favorite on fashion runways for a while now,” as stated by Studio Perman.
Makeup novelties were revealed by Paola Peček, Patrizia Jaklin, and Greta Karamarko. “In line with the hairstyle and the overall look, we achieved subtle elegance with glamorous makeup, with a special focus on the eyes. The Cat Eye look is an essential part of fashion runways, and this time, it is further accentuated with glitter and crystals,” said Paola Peček.
A radiant, healthy skin serves as the foundation for everything, and the glam look is further enhanced by choosing a nude shade of lipstick that allows the eyes to steal the spotlight while contributing to the overall finesse of the style.
A diverse audience enjoyed the musical program by DJ Sale For Love, and the after-party took place on the beautiful terrace of Azura Lounge Eat Club, a favorite gathering spot for Rijeka residents of all generations.
