Famous Oscar-winner to film series in Croatia

ZAGREB, 16 September 2023 – English Oscar-winning actor, Eddie Redmayne, will be filming a series in Croatia this autumn, Glas Istre exclusively reports.

The series, titled “The Day of the Jackal,” is produced by Carnival Film & Television for Sky/Peacock. It is based on the novel of the same name by Frederick Forsyth and follows a professional assassin who is hired to kill French President Charles de Gaulle.

Eddie Redmayne is playing the lead role in the series. 

The cast also includes Lashana Lynch, Adam James, Scott Alexander Young, Hans Peterson, and others.

Filming in Croatia is set to commence on September 27th and will take place in various locations, including Rijeka, Dubrovnik, Pag, and somewhere in central Istria.

Producers describe the series as a “bold, modern reimagining of the beloved and acclaimed novel and film,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Notably, the 41-year-old Eddie has received various accolades, including an Academy Award, a Tony Award, a BAFTA Award, and two Olivier Awards.

Redmayne won his Oscar in 2014 for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything.
