‘Hell’s Kitchen’ is coming to Croatia. The hit television show and one of the most successful and long-running culinary formats is arriving on RTL under the title ‘Hell’s Kitchen Croatia’ , 24sata reported.
Applications for participation are already open, and contestants can expect the opportunity of a lifetime – cooking alongside Tom Gretić, one of the best Croatian chefs, and receiving his mentorship throughout the show.
Only one of them will emerge victorious, with a grand prize of 30,000 euros.
‘Hell’s Kitchen’ is a British culinary reality show created under the ITV license, where promising culinary enthusiasts compete in various culinary challenges and eliminations under the guidance of a charismatic head chef who teaches, rewards, punishes, and decides their fate. In the original version, the head chef is Gordon Ramsay.
Contestants of ‘Hell’s Kitchen’ embark on their culinary journey divided into two teams, simulating the workings of a real restaurant. Additionally, they live together next to the restaurant, and cameras capture their private moments and interpersonal relationships.
In each episode, contestants are faced with various challenges that will test their culinary skills, creativity, and speed. This includes preparing multi-course dinners for real guests arriving at the restaurant – who expect nothing but the best. At the end of the meal, the losing team must nominate someone from their own team, and the head chef decides who stays and who leaves the show.
The immense popularity of this franchise is evidenced by millions of fans, six Emmy nominations, and a chain of restaurants named Hell’s Kitchen, which was opened by Gordon Ramsay himself.
Furthermore, local versions of the show have been produced in more than twenty countries worldwide, from Finland and Brazil to Indonesia and Australia.
In Croatia, this adventure will be led by Gretić, a beloved chef who gained his culinary knowledge in numerous restaurants in Croatia and abroad. He has been declared the best Croatian chef multiple times and, in 2015, became the first Croatian chef to prepare dishes at one of the world’s most prestigious restaurants, Ikarus, located within Hangar-7 in Salzburg.
