A jury composed of globally recognised experts in the field of nautical production has announced the nominations for the DAME Award. This is a prestigious award given for design in the field of nautics.
For the shortlist, the jury has selected 53 products across several categories, with the winners to be announced at the upcoming MetsTrade fair held next month in Amsterdam.
In addition to the winners in eight categories, an overall winner will also be announced. The mere nomination of a product for this award is a significant endorsement for both the product and the manufacturer.
Among the 53 nominated products is one from Croatia. It is the ecological island ECOcube designed for collecting blackwater, waste, and supplying water to vessels in areas where municipal infrastructure is not available, writes Burza Nautike.
ECOcube, developed by the company Marservis from Novigrad in Istria, is a unique product that has the potential to be among the winners in the category of coastal equipment and materials, as well as in the environmental design category.
Marservis is involved in the development and production of ecological solutions in the nautical industry. Their new product, ECOcube, is an innovation in the global market. ECOcube is a floating pontoon made of natural fibers and bioepoxy resin, which, in addition to being suitable for collecting waste liquids from boats and solid waste, also provides users with the supply of potable water from its own desalinator.
ECOcube is autonomous and powered by batteries that are charged via solar panels located on the roof. ECOcube utilizes high-tech solutions, with the entire operation and usage process monitored remotely through built-in sensors.
