Podravka, the company which produces the iconic Croatian seasoning Vegeta, launched Vegeta&Spirulina, the only product of its kind on the market.
Apart from achieving early commercial success, it has won the ‘designer’s Oscar’ for its packaging. The design of the special edition, which was produced in a limited series on the occasion of the company’s 75th anniversary, won the Red Dot Design Award last night in Berlin.
Podravka’s CEO of Vegeta Krunoslav Bešvir, marketing director Sanja Garaj Miloš, and the corporate communications director Majda Žujo were all present at the event to collect the award, Danica.hr reports.
“The limited edition of our new superfood seasoning Vegeta & Spirulina has been awarded the most sought-after international quality label, the Red Dot Design Award! Vegeta & Spirulina has been declared the best of the best, winning the title ‘Red Dot Best of the Best’, which is awarded to the best among all Red Dot recipients who have distinguished themselves with very high design quality. We developed the design in collaboration with the agency Bruketa&Žinić&Grey,” stated the representatives from Podravka.
Vegeta & Spirulina has been available for regular purchase since this year. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that, due to its properties, is also referred to as s super food of the 21st century.
The new Vegeta does not contain flavour enhancers and only consists of natural ingredients, including 35 percent of dried vegetables (carrot, onion, parsnip, potato, tomato, leek, celery, bell pepper, parsley leaf). In addition to the dried vegetables, the key ingredient of the new Vegeta is powdered spirulina (10 percent), ginger, coriander, lovage, black pepper, garlic, extra virgin olive oil, and sea salt.
Research has shown that spirulina promotes the elimination of toxins and other impurities from the bloodstream. It has been found to have significant anti-inflammatory effects, making it beneficial in the prevention of chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Experts also claim that spirulina helps reduce the level of stress hormones, which can increase the risk of developing various diseases, including cardiovascular diseases and different types of cancer. It is popular among people who want to lose weight, Danica.hr writes.
Podravka say that the combination of the traditional flavour of Vegeta and the exotic spirulina complements various soups, sauces, pasta dishes, as well as salad dressings, dips, and marinades.
