Christmas gifts, a memorable atmosphere, and a plenty of gourmet surprises
The sweetest park in Zagreb, Zrinjevac, where generations of Zagreb residents and numerous visitors take leisurely strolls, is going to present its new, festive attire.
From November 29th to January 7th, the most famous and beautiful promenade, surrounded by tall, majestic plane trees, will host restaurateurs and small artisans, adding a touch of magic to this beautiful place.
From Monday to Thursday from 12 to 23 hrs, Fridays from 12 to 24 hours, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., visitors can discover the attractions carefully prepared by the RougeMarin organizational team.
With twelve years of experience in event organization and the successful execution of the RougeMarin park project, this successful team decided to organize Sweet Zrinjevac Christmas Market and invited restaurateurs and small artisans to share holiday moments with visitors and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Their inspiration was the centuries-old tradition of licitar heart, the most recognizable symbol of Christmas and the holiday season in Zagreb.
This sweet heart is reflected in many details throughout the park. Marin Medak is proud of the first sustainable festival – Sweet Zrinjevac. Just like major European cities, they are introducing the use of porcelain cups to avoid unnecessary waste. Cups can be purchased and returned or kept as a souvenir.
Can you recall how many sweet, unforgettable moments you’ve spent right here, walking, daydreaming on one of the benches, holding hands in love, or seeking refreshment by the fountain? Maybe you’ve studied the monuments of famous figures who found their home right on Zrinjevac? They will be joined by sculptures created as part of the Sit&Meet project, such as Marin Getaldić, Milka Trnina, Dražen Petrović, Nikola Šubić Zrinski, and Ruđer Bošković.
Do you know why Getaldić was called a magician? And that Milka chocolate, as legends say, got its name from our Milka Trnina, one of the world’s most famous opera singers?
Visitors can also expect 12 culinary surprises, as well as about ten stalls of small artisans with festive, handmade holiday souvenirs, so you can also buy gifts for your loved ones, such as Christmas tree ornaments, licitars, and various festive handicrafts.
A luxurious gastronomic offer eagerly awaits its gourmands. Buncaš, Grahos, Kaiser sausage, Italian porchetta, sausages in a million ways with a pinch of spices, and Crunchy Beef Empanada are just some of the delicacies that will surely encourage you to visit Sweet Zrinjevac.
And what about the sweet offerings! Special kroštule, Christmas pudding, Christmas pancake, churros, homemade fritters according to grandma’s recipe, and sweet rolls with white bueno cream.
It’s worth mentioning the fantastic warm-cold cocktails you haven’t had before but would gladly try, by Filip Lipnik and Art of Bar. They will round off the gastronomic feast, awaiting you from noon to midnight at Sweet Zrinjevac with real gastronomic experts, chefs Mihovil Roso, Damir Baja, Zvonimir Štrk, Marijo Mihelj, Melkior Bašić, Marin Medak, and innovative baker Karlo Vulin.
