The Zagreb County Tourist Board has achieved impressive success in promoting its destination through an award-winning tourism film at the 35th edition of the World Tourism Film Awards.
The event took place in Valencia, Spain, on November 22, 2023, organised by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT), which celebrates the best in tourism advertising by awarding the best tourism films of the year.
The award ceremony unfolded at the iconic Oceanogràfic, where the promotional film “Okusi prije svega” (A Taste Above) secured an impressive 4th place for the Best Tourism Film of the Year in the category of tourism products.
To even be nominated for this prestigious award, the film had previously participated and won numerous accolades at international tourism film festivals.
Ivana Alilović, the director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, expressed pride in the achieved success, stating, “Being recognized at numerous global festivals and now as one of the Best Tourism Films of the Year proves that our natural heritage, rich culture, and the beauty of Zagreb County deserve a place on the global stage. This prestigious award is a confirmation of the quality of our work at the Tourist Board and our sustainable destination, which continues to experience rapid growth as we plan to undertake more successful projects.”
The film “Okusi prije svega” was created in collaboration with the production house Sekunde, offering visitors to Zagreb County an exploration of how indulging in wine roads also means immersing oneself in customs, traditions, and culture – both of the places and the table.
The collaboration with winemakers, their stories, and authentic experiences resulted in a film that stands out in tourism communication, according to director Alilović. The film is not just a promotion of the destination; it serves as a compelling invitation for foreign and domestic visitors to explore the green ring surrounding the metropolis.

It secured the title of “Best Wine Film” at the ART & TUR Portugal festival and achieved an impressive second place in the Enotourism category at the World Media Festivals 2023, earning a silver distinction. The film also won gold this year at the Terres Tourism Film Festival.
The Zagreb County Tourist Board remains committed to promoting a sustainable approach to tourism with the aim of building the most significant continental green destination.
