The Croatian Mint has issued the first official Croatian set of euro coins for 2023 in proof quality.

The official set of Croatian euro coins for 2023 is issued in a limited series of only 500 pieces, representing one of the most renowned Mediterranean tourist destinations in Europe – Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik, whose roots date back to the seventh century when it was founded by refugees from Epidaurum (Ragusa Vecchia), represents an exceptional history and cultural heritage of the Republic of Croatia.

The city experienced a golden age during the 15th and 16th centuries as the capital of the maritime Republic of Dubrovnik. Renowned for its wealth and diplomatic skill, Dubrovnik has also been and remains the cradle of Croatian literature.

The decision to include the Old Town of Dubrovnik on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979 attests to the exceptional medieval architecture and fortifications of the old city.

Today, Dubrovnik remains a pearl in Croatian tourism, attracting a large number of visitors every year. It has also become a popular filming location, often used as a backdrop in some of the most famous modern films and series.
