Zagreb, December 15, 2023 – Queens Of The Stone Age, one of the most influential rock bands of the last decades, will play at Šalata Stadium in Zagreb on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, as part of a major world tour accompanying their latest album, “In Times New Roman…”
Formed in 1996 on the remnants of the cult stoner band Kyuss, Queens Of The Stone Age became one of the most important rock bands in the world over the past 27 years.
What started as performances in the desert soon evolved into a group without which the biggest arenas and festivals in the world became unthinkable. At the helm of the band is the great Josh Homme, while the rest solidified in 2013, consisting of Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita, and Jon Theodore.
However, throughout history, members have included the likes of Dave Grohl, Mark Lanegan, and Nick Oliveri.
Their discographic journey began with a notable debut in 1998, after which they were signed by the major label Interscope, marking the beginning of their global conquest.
Over the next four albums – the masterpieces “Rated R,” “Songs For The Deaf,” “Lullabies To Paralyze,” and “Era Vulgaris” – and in just seven years, the band delivered more rock hits than some bands do in their entire careers, with most still being integral parts of their setlist today. Billboard’s #1 album, the brilliant “…Like Clockwork” from 2013, was their first with the major indie label Matador, followed by two more, “Villains” and the current acclaimed “In Times New Roman…,” which has been nominated for two Grammys.
Although the Zagreb concert will be a promotional showcase for their latest release, the backbone of Queens Of The Stone Age concerts continues to be songs that are etched into rock history as the best creative works of the past 20-something seasons, such as “No One Knows,” “Go With The Flow,” “Little Sister,” “My God is the Sun,” “Feel Good Hit Of The Summer,” “First It Giveth,” or “Make It Wit Chu.”
QOTSA will play at the Šalata Stadium, where other names have already confirmed their presence next summer, such as Khruangbin (July 16), Corey Taylor (June 6), and Brkovi (September 7).
Tickets for the Šalata go on sale today at an initial price of 66 euros. They can be purchased at retail outlets and online through Eventim, while hard copy tickets will be available at Dirty Old Shop, Rockmark, and Dallas Music Shop Rijeka.
