Two Croatian regions make Best Food Regions in the World list

Two Croatian regions, Dalmatia and Istria, have secured spots on the list of the 100 Best Food Regions in the World, as published by TasteAtlas, a popular online travel guide dedicated to traditional cuisine.
Dalmatia’s Culinary Triumphs at 14th Place
Dalmatia clinched the 14th position worldwide. This achievement is backed by an extensive evaluation process that considered 395,205 dish ratings and 115,660 food product ratings, with 271,819 and 80,863 valid entries, respectively.
According to TasteAtlas, Dalmatia’s best dishes and products included Peka, Gradele, Viška pogača, Buzara, Poljički soparnik, Dalmatinski pršut, Drniški pršut, Neretvanska mandarina, Dalmatinska panceta and Dinarski sir.
When it comes to beverages, Dalmatia’s Dingač, Pošip, and other local wines, such as Grk and Plavac mali, have enchanted the palates of food enthusiasts worldwide.
Istria in 44th Place
Istria, another jewel in Croatia’s culinary crown, secured the 44th spot on the list, highlighting its gastronomic offerings such as Fuži s bijelim istarskim tartufom, Fritaja sa šparogama, Maneštra od bobići, Istarski ombolo and Žgvacet od kokoši.
The region’s products, including the Istarsko ekstra djevičansko maslinovo ulje (extra virgin olive oil), have played a pivotal role in securing its global culinary standing.
