Number of scholarships for Croatian students outside Croatia increased by 350

ZAGREB, 22 Dec (Hina) – The Croatian government has secured around €2.3 million for scholarships for Croats outside Croatia for the academic year 2023/2024, with the Central State Office for Croats Abroad having invited applications for 1,500 scholarships, 350 more than in the last academic year.
What is new are scholarships for Croatian students in Montenegro (30), Kosovo (5), North Macedonia (15) and Serbia (150).
Of the 1,500 scholarships, 1,000 are intended for studies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 300 for studies in Croatia, of which 200 for members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Croat people, 60 for members of the Croat ethnic minority and 40 for members of the Croat expatriate community.
Scholarships are awarded for one academic year, the monthly amount being €150, the same as last year.
Eligible for the scholarships are students – members of the Croatian people outside Croatia who are regular students at institutions of higher education in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Serbia.
The deadline for the submission of applications is 19 January 2024.
