There will be free guided tours in 55 cities and towns across Croatia on January 14, 2024 when the ‘Explore Your Country’ project takes place again.

The initiative aligns with International Recognition Day, commemorating the acknowledgment of Croatia as an independent nation.

Since its inception in 2018, interrupted briefly by the pandemic, this project has been orchestrated by the Association of Tourist Guides of Croatia, in collaboration with the Croatian Tourist Board and various partners, including historical units, museums, and cultural institutions.

Programs in all cities and towns, with minor exceptions, will commence simultaneously at 12:00 PM on January 14, 2024.

The project has garnered positive responses from citizens and media alike over the years, becoming a popular tradition.

The project aims to highlight the importance of tourism professionals in enhancing Croatia’s international reputation and emphasises the significance of national identity and cultural heritage.

All citizens are invited to explore cities and towns across Croatia and join in discovering the hidden stories they hold. The initiative believes that every citizen can be an advocate and ambassador for their homeland, stressing the crucial role of tourism professionals in shaping Croatia’s global image.

The project, made possible through the efforts of dedicated volunteers, extends gratitude to all colleagues who contribute selflessly. It emphasises the invaluable support from the media and fellow citizens, acknowledging that without their support, the project wouldn’t thrive.
