Luka Modrić the star of new Snickers commercial

Croatia captain Luka Modrić is one of the main stars of a new global Snickers commercial.

The new commercial featuring Modrić has started airing on televisions across Europe in the build up to Euro 2024.

The Real Madrid and Croatian midfielder takes the lead role in the commercial for the American chocolate brand Snickers, alongside Arsenal and England star Bukayo Saka. 

The 20-second ad is set in a barber shop with customer is getting a haircut while intensely watching a football match on the screen.

Unable to contain his excitement, the customer jumps up to celebrate a winning goal, causing the barber to accidentally shave off a strip of his hair. Enter the barbershop’s newest employee, played by Bukayo Saka, who points out Tim’s ‘own goal’.

Modrić, playing the role as the barbershop assistant, offers Tim a Snickers bar as a quick remedy for his amusing blunder. The campaign tagline then appears on the screen: Own goal? Maybe you just need a Snickers.

“I’ve really enjoyed working with Snickers. It ́s been fun to rate some of the funniest football mistakes – mistakes happen and anybody can score an own goal, sometimes you just need some help to get back on your game,” Luka Modrić said.
