Police in the Lika-Senj county in Croatia have completed a criminal investigation against a 58-year-old water works employee, who they say cut off the water supply to the town of Gracac because he had not been paid his salary.
“He has caused disruption to normal daily life for the population after he took out fuses out of electricity and thus switched off the water pump. The area of Gracac was without drinking water for up 4 hours,” said a police statement. The man is accused of turning off the water supply at 9am after losing his patience with his company who had allegedly not paid his wages. The man has told the press that he will continue to cut off the water supply until he is paid what he is owned.
