Sv. Ivan Zelina, just outside of Zagreb, is becoming a destination for exploring and enjoying the magical world of nature. All attractions are now within reach, thanks to a new informational brochure for private renters.
The Sv. Ivan Zelina Tourist Board has unveiled a tourist project, the Magical Zelinski Fairy Park, at the Kos Jurišić Winery.
This project, in collaboration with private renters, connects private accommodation facilities in Sv. Ivan Zelina with the area’s natural heritage and the legends that have been part of its history for centuries.
Thirty-one accommodations are each marked with a different plant, selected for its proximity and significance to the surrounding environment.
Dr. Romana Lekić, the project’s author, has uniquely linked each accommodation to various themes from the world of plants and folk legends.
She highlighted, “In addition to Slavic mythology and its connection to the folk calendar, we included stories from other myths to foster intercultural connections and brand communication. Traditional rituals and ceremonies, which are still present in folklore and have been scientifically analysed by recent authors, are also emphasised.”
Each accommodation thus becomes a unique place that connects, presents, and educates visitors about the visible and hidden wealth of its environment.
The visible, green world of nature has always inspired the locals and now serves as inspiration for visitors too.
With the “Magical Zelinski Fairy Park” project, the Sv. Ivan Zelina Tourist Board has created a new tourist attraction by connecting key destination attractions with stakeholders, resulting in a complete experience of staying in Sv. Ivan Zelina.
“Nature, gastronomy, and private accommodation are the main features of the year-round offer in Sv. Ivan Zelina. The experience is the key attraction of our destination, and the idea behind the project is to create a comprehensive, continuous experience of the destination by showcasing the natural attractions that most visitors come to see.
The accommodation owners communicate their knowledge and presentation of nature’s secrets to their guests, each with a plant carefully chosen for their property, presented with individual visuals and specific stories,” said Marinka Zubčić Mubrin, Director of the Sv. Ivan Zelina Tourist Board.
The presentation was led by Ms. Ružica Rašperić, who said:
“Given the extensive experience of the Director of the Sv. Ivan Zelina Tourist Board, Mrs. Marinka Zubčić Mubrin, it’s no surprise she recognized the importance and potential of holiday home accommodations. Together with the project’s author, Dr. Romana Lekić, they connected, integrated, and networked local renters through a new creative model.
The connection is also designed through music and rhythm, with each house having its own song and symbol. This way, each property is unique, a place that presents, educates, relaxes, and communicates with guests. With the new legal framework focusing on sustainable tourism management, every destination has the opportunity to direct its tourist development.
With this project, the Sv. Ivan Zelina Tourist Board enhances the quality of the tourism product and creates a brand that will increase visitor demand for the destination and directly impact ecological, economic, and social sustainability.”
The new Minister of Tourism, Tonči Glavina, stated, “Accommodation in households is an extremely important part of our tourism offer, which is why we have defined in the government’s program that we will systematically invest in improving the quality and branding of host accommodations.”
Today’s presentation, coupled with a pleasant tourist gathering in the Zelina vineyards, also featured another activity by the Sv. Ivan Zelina Tourist Board aimed at private renters. Respecting tourism as an enjoyment without borders, but also as a planned activity, an informational brochure “Sveti Ivan Zelina and Surroundings” has been prepared for all private accommodation facilities.
The brochure, available in every accommodation, provides inspiring and practical information for those who have chosen Sv. Ivan Zelina as their destination for pleasure and relaxation. It suggests and offers information about activities, attractions, excursions, thematic routes, and gastronomy. For more information or inspiration, the brochure is ready.
Sv. Ivan Zelina continues to enrich the guest experience by creating unique experiences as motivation for a first visit and then a return to the destination.
Each house has received a sign with two QR codes. The first QR code leads to the house’s website, and the second to visitzelina.hr, where all houses included in the project can be found.
