Five Croatian restaurants on prestigious Wine Spectator awards list

A total of five restaurants in Croatia have featured on Wine Spectator’s 2024 List.

Matsunoki and Alfred Keller, two restaurants located on the island of Lošinj, Nautika and 360 in Dubrovnik and Meneghetti in Istria have been awarded Wine Spectator accolades for 2024.

The recognition will be announced in the Wine Spectator issue dated 31 August 2024, Dobra hrana reported.

Wine Spectator is a renowned American magazine dedicated to wine and wine culture. Each year, it publishes over 15,000 wine reviews based on blind tastings.

Each issue contains between 400 and 1,000 detailed wine reviews, providing comprehensive tasting notes and consumption recommendations.

Matsunoki on Lošinj wins Wine Spectator's "Best of Award of Excellence" award

Wine Spectator sets high standards and relies on the proven expertise of its editors and tasters to identify the best of the best in the world of wine.

Restaurant Matsunoki has already been awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2023 and received a Two-Glass rating.

It also holds a Michelin recommendation and boasts 16 points in the Gault&Millau guide. As they state, this season they are returning to classic Japanese cuisine, allowing guests at Matsunoki to enjoy traditional Japanese dishes combined with Mediterranean ingredients from local organic farms.

The menu includes sushi, sashimi, rare Japanese Wagyu A5 beef, and other delicacies.

Restaurant Alfred Keller, meanwhile, proudly holds one Michelin star and 16.5 points in the Gault&Millau guide, in addition to the recent Wine Spectator accolade. Under the leadership of young Austrian chef Michael Gollenz, Alfred Keller’s kitchen is based on classic French techniques and global flavours.
