ZAGREB, 24 July (Hina) – Croatian robotics teams have won six medals at the RoboCup world robotics competition in the Dutch city of Eindhoven, including a gold, a silver and four bronzes, the Croatian Robotics Association announced on Monday.
This year’s event, hosted by the Eindhoven University of Technology, took place from 17 o 21 July, attracting about 3,000 roboticists from 45 countries. In addition to the six medals, the Croatian roboticists returned home with two special awards in junior categories.
During the competition, visitors could see the latest innovations in robotics and learn about robotic technologies used in different fields.
“RoboCup is not just a competition, but also a festival of technology that attracts thousands of visitors, including students, academics, industry experts and the general public. The aim is to promote robotics as a key technology of the future and to inspire younger generations to engage in activities and a career in this very dynamic field,” the Croatian Robotics Association said in a press release.
“This success is of great importance to Croatia, because it is the result of many years of systematic work that includes numerous workshops and competitions in robotics. At the same time, it is the best proof of how we successfully cope with technological superpowers in educational and competitive robotics,” it added.
