After travelling to all 44 countries in Europe – why Croatia is in top 5

Luca Pferdmenges, a 22-year-old German juggler with over three million social media followers, has travelled to all 44 countries in Europe and among his favourite five destinations is Croatia.
Pferdmenges, a world traveller, told the Daily Mail that Portugal, Cyprus, Spain, Austria, and Croatia are his favourite European countries he has visited, and he’s been to them all.
“These are well-known tourist destinations, but I think they are famous for a reason,” Pferdmenges said.
The German juggler explained that he favours warmer climates and prefers spending more time in southern Europe. “All Mediterranean countries have the best weather, and I love Mediterranean cuisine. There’s lots of olive oil, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh vegetables. I like the relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle, and Cyprus is one of my favourite countries because the people there are among the friendliest in the world,” he added.
Pferdmenges also mentioned that Croatia has set new high standards for beaches and that Lisbon is his favourite European city. “I love big cities with lots to do, but I prefer them to be warm,” said the German.

In addition to these five European countries, Pferdmenges recommends Montenegro’s coast and North Macedonia for adventurous travellers. He was especially impressed by Lake Ohrid and Skopje. “In Skopje, you feel like you’re walking through an open-air museum. It’s known as the city of statues,” said the juggler, who has 2.9 million followers on TikTok.
Pferdmenges loves Slovenia for its mountains and hiking trails and claims it is cheaper than Switzerland and Austria. “If you want a medieval vibe, I recommend Tallinn in Estonia. It’s one of the most technologically advanced countries, but Tallinn looks like a medieval trading hub. The market in Riga, Latvia, which is nearby, is also amazing,” said the German.
Pferdmenges also believes adventurers should give Romania and Bulgaria a chance, as they have excellent beaches, friendly people, exciting cities, fantastic food, and are more affordable. “Albania, Kosovo, and Serbia are underrated destinations, and you definitely have to visit Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to learn about its history,” he added.

As for the countries Pferdmenges does not recommend, San Marino and Belgium top his list. He didn’t enjoy San Marino as it was difficult to access, and everything there can be seen in just a few hours. “If you’re in Rimini, Italy, you can visit San Marino, see everything in a day, and return,” Pferdmenges said.
Belgium, in his opinion, is too grey and cold, although he noted that his mother liked it. He also couldn’t recommend Belarus. “I had a great time in Minsk, but it’s hard to get there, and it’s the only truly isolated country on the continent,” said the German.

The juggler added that Liechtenstein is very isolated and expensive, and while the Nordic countries are beautiful, they are extremely costly. “A short taxi ride in Finland can cost you 30 to 40 euros,” Pferdmenges pointed out. If you’re on a budget, he advises avoiding Iceland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Switzerland and Ireland are also very expensive.
The biggest culture shock, he said, can be found in Turkey and Belarus, as they are quite different from most European countries. As for the worst weather? That, according to Pferdmenges, is in the United Kingdom.
