For the second year in a row, the Mate olive mill from Zambratija, near Umag on Croatia’s Istrian peninsula, has achieved the maximum score of 100 points for its olive oil.

As Kult Plave Kamenice reports, Mate achieved its perfect 100 in the latest edition of the prestigious Italian guide, Flos Olei.

Last year was the first time a Croatian olive oil had ever scored a perfect 100.

With 500 olive growers featured annually, Flos Olei is considered the most influential global guide for premium extra virgin olive oils.

Once again, Croatian oils, particularly those from Istria, have secured top positions in the guide.

Flos Olei does not list the specific labels that were evaluated, but instead, it highlights the names of the farm owners and mills.

These results, alongside numerous gold and silver medals from the New York International Olive Oil Competition and other prestigious global contests—where Dalmatia’s Villa Nai 3.3 shined this year—underscore the exceptional quality and reputation of Croatia’s premium olive oil production.
