As the Croatian Armed Forces await the arrival of the first eight Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, the Ministry of Defence has released footage showcasing the vehicles undergoing tests.
The testing took place at the “Kindrovo” factory site operated by Đuro Đaković near Slavonski Brod, as well as at the military training ground “Gašinci” near Đakovo.
The tests are designed to evaluate various subsystems of the vehicles, from driving performance in challenging conditions to testing the weapon systems both during the day and at night.
At the Gašinci tank firing range, where the Croatian Soldier team was present, specialists from the American companies involved in the project conducted live-fire exercises.
Delivery Timeline for Bradley Vehicles
By the end of the year, eight Bradley vehicles are scheduled for delivery to the Croatian Armed Forces.
To recap, the first 44 of the total 89 Bradley vehicles delivered to Croatia are currently undergoing refurbishment at Đuro Đaković.
The goal of this refurbishment is to ensure that all Bradley vehicles are fully operational and combat-ready by 2026. Of these, 62 will be brought into service and deployed within the Croatian Army units, an additional five will be prepared for training purposes, and the remainder will be used as a source of spare parts.
Eight vehicles are expected to be delivered by the end of this year, with the majority of the remaining 62 scheduled for delivery in 2025. The Sokolovi Battalion of the Guards Armoured-Mechanised Brigade of the Croatian Army is planned to be fully equipped with the Bradley vehicles by the end of 2026.
Equipping the Croatian Army with Bradley vehicles will enhance the current capabilities of the Croatian Land Forces and enable Croatia to meet NATO’s capability targets.
The total value of the equipment project amounts to $196.4 million (excluding VAT).
