This year, Zagreb Electric Tram (ZET) is once again enhancing the city’s Advent offerings with unique rides designed especially for the kids.
To ensure a true winter fairytale experience, the iconic Merry Christmas Tram is back in service.
“Due to overwhelming demand, this Advent will see not one, but two Merry Christmas Trams bringing festive cheer to the streets of Zagreb with their enchanting rides,” ZET said today.
Santa Claus, along with his fairies and elves, will welcome the youngest passengers and their companions aboard a historic 1924 tourist tram, a nod to Zagreb’s rich transport heritage, as well as on a modern low-floor NT 2300 tram.
Each 30-minute ride includes a delightful performance featuring Santa and his helpers, complete with a sweet treat distribution for our youngest residents and visitors.
The Merry Christmas Trams will run from Sunday, 1st December, to Tuesday, 7th January. During this period, the trams will operate every 15 minutes at the following times:
- Monday to Thursday: 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM
- Friday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The trams depart from the corner of Praška Street and Ban Josip Jelačić Square, where a ticket booth will also be available.
The route runs from Ban Josip Jelačić Square, along Ilica to Republic of Austria Street, Jukićeva and Mihanovićeva Streets, then through Zrinjevac before returning to the starting point.
Tickets are priced at €5.
The trams will not operate on:
- 8th December (Advent Run)
- 25th December (Christmas Day)
- 1st January (New Year’s Day)
On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve (24th and 31st December), the trams will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
“We warmly invite you to join us for these magical rides and experience the true wonder of a winter fairytale,” ZET concluded.
