The City of Zagreb unveiled details on Saturday of its New Year’s Eve programme, which will feature some popular names on the Croatian music scene to welcome locals and tourists into 2025.
On 31 December, Ban Jelačić Square will host a line-up of young performers, including Miach, Hiljson Mandela, Baby Lasagna, and Grše, alongside the timeless icon of Croatian music, Josipa Lisac.
The programme was announced yesterday at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall by Tomislav Tomašević, Mayor of Zagreb; Emina Višnić, Head of the City Office for Culture and Civil Society; and Baby Lasagna, the audience’s favourite from this year’s Eurovision.
“We’ve worked hard to create a programme that appeals to all generations. We’ve brought together the biggest young stars and a legend of Croatian music on one stage. I invite everyone to join us on the square this New Year’s Eve and enjoy this special event,” said Mayor Tomašević.
“I’m thrilled to have the chance to perform in Zagreb’s main square, and it’s a true honour to be part of this extraordinary New Year’s Eve programme. We’re part of a new wave on the Croatian music scene, which has seen an incredible surge of exceptional, talented artists. I can’t wait to see the audience’s faces and bring fantastic energy to the stage,” said Baby Lasagna.
The evening’s host will be Martina Validžić, a journalist and creator of numerous travel documentaries. The programme kicks off at 7:00 p.m. with music from the stage, followed by live performances from this year’s featured stars:
- 8:30 p.m. – Miach
- 9:15 p.m. – Josipa Lisac
- 10:15 p.m. – Hiljson Mandela
- 11:15 p.m. – Baby Lasagna
- 12:15 a.m. – Grše
The New Year’s Eve celebration is organised by the City of Zagreb in collaboration with the Zagreb Tourist Board. The total planned cost to the City of Zagreb is approximately €120,000, covering organisational expenses, while the €105,500 fee for the five performers will be funded by the Zagreb Tourist Board.
This year, for the second time, the City of Zagreb will also host a Children’s New Year’s Eve celebration at Petar Preradović Square at 12:00 p.m., where the youngest revellers can enjoy a performance by Mia Dimšić.
“In addition to the many events we’re organising during this festive season, we also invite you to join us at Flower Square to enjoy a performance by renowned Croatian singer-songwriter Mia Dimšić. I’m confident her exceptional repertoire will captivate us all,” concluded Emina Višnić.
