China’s Shenzhen Looking To Forge Croatian Partnership

A delegation from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Chinese city of Shenzhen have been in Croatia this week, where they have presented to representatives of Croatia’s tourism industry.
Shenzhen city delegates were in the capital Zagreb looking to promote cooperation between the city and Croatia in the areas of culture, sport and tourism. The delegates also presented the cities latest tourist project “Creative Shenzhen – a city of fashion” which it is currently branding itself as. The delegation from China included representatives from Shenzhen’s five largest tourist agencies.
Shenzhen, which has a population of over 10 Million, is China’s first—and one of the most successful—Special Economic Zones (SEZs). Both Chinese and foreign nationals have invested enormous amounts of money in the Shenzhen SEZ. More than US$30 billion in foreign investment has gone into both foreign-owned and joint ventures, at first mainly in manufacturing but more recently in the service industries as well. Shenzhen is now considered one of the fastest-growing cities in the world and is also one of the busiest container ports in China.
