Croatia’s High Camping Price Does Not Deter Tourists

Croatia might be 4th on the list of the most expensive places to go camping in Europe behind Switzerland, Italy and Denmark, but it has not put off tourists this year. The positive trend of campers choosing Croatia as a destination has once again continued, with the big hit this year being mobile homes.

Traditional camp houses are slowly being phased in Croatia and being replaced with the modern mobile camp houses. One site in particular, Camp Njivice on the island of Krk on the northern Adriatic, has had a better summer than usual.

“At the end of August we will have approximately 18% more overnight stays this year, and around 13% better financial results,” CEO Zvonimir Todorović told RTL television.

Mobile homes in camp Njivice offer the space of 32m² and are equipped with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen and two bathrooms. The Mobile homes, which are located just a few meters from the sea, are equipped with air-conditioning, satellite TV, a fully equipped kitchen, bed linen, towels and even iPod and iPhone Docking and Wi-Fi Internet. Around 50% of the tourists staying at Camp Njivice are Slovenian, and the camp says that the season does not look like coming to an end anytime soon, as they are booked out for the next month.
