Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb have left by bus for Vienna on Monday morning, as they prepare for the return leg of their UEFA Champions league qualifier against Austria Vienna on Tuesday night.
Dinamo Zagreb will be hoping to turn around a 0:2 deficit from the first leg in Zagreb, a result that cost coach Krunoslav Jurcic his job. The brother of Dinamo Zagreb’s controversial chairmen Zdravko Mamic, Zoran, will be in charge of the side tomorrow night in the match that is worth over 8 million EUR to the club. Dinamo Zagreb’s Australian-born captain Joe Simunic is one player who has seen it all in his long career, and he is not giving up hope.
“Those (players) who do not believe we can turn it around, may as well not even get on the bus for Vienna,” Dinamo captain and Croatian international Simunic said on the eve of the side’s departure, before adding, “I remember a Champions League final when one side was down 3:0 at half-time (Ac Milan v Liverpool) and ended up celebrating in the end”.
