Croatia Beat Holland to Make European Women’s Volleyball Champs Quarters

The Croatian women’s volleyball team have beaten the Netherlands in a five-set thriller to advance through to the quarter-final of the European Championship in Germany and Switzerland.
Igor Lovrinov’s side were too good in the end for the strong Dutch side, coming out winners 23-25, 25-11, 22-25, 25-23, 15-11 in 113 minutes. Croatia will now take on the hosts Germany, who were European runners-up 2 years ago, for a place in the semi-final. Croatia’s top scorers were Mira Topić with 22 points, Sanja Popović with 18, Samanta Fabris with 15, and Ivana Miloš and Maja Poljak with 14 each.
