First it was fresh milk, then pizza’s, and now you can get a bottle of extra virgin olive oil straight from the vending machine in Croatia.
Olive oil producer Vinko Perić, the man behind the “Viper” brand in Croatia, has purchased the first olive oil vending machine in the country which will be located in the Dalmatian city of Split.
“The vending machine is manufactured in the European Union and meets all ecological and other standards, as does the extra virgin cold pressed oil from olives from the Šibenik and Primošten region. There were a few options where we would put the vending machine. The first was in Zagreb, but then I decided to put it in my home town. I want to offer the people of Split the highest quality olive oil for a very reasonable price,” said Perić, adding that before the olive oil makes it to the vending machine, it passes the most stringent controls so that the customer gets a guaranteed high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
Consumers will have a choice of two olive oil’s from the machine which can hold up to 200 litres of olive oil at a time, reports daily Slobodna Dalmacija.
