After the Guinness Book of Record entries for the largest sarma and strudel were broken in Croatia last week, another record has tumbled over the weekend, sending Croat Goran Čolak into the famous book.
World Champion Croatian free-diver Čolak has set a new world record on the weekend for holding his breath underwater (static apnea). Čolak beat the record held by Tom Sietas of 22 minutes 22 seconds by 10 seconds in a special swimming pool set up on Zagreb’s main square. Čolak, who has broken more than 30 domestic records and has won the Croatian free-diving championship the last 7 years in a row, is currently the International Association for Development of Apnea’s (AIDA) most successful male athlete from AIDA World Championships with 6 Gold medals and one Silver medal.
