Close to 1,000 Croats have applied for positions at Swedish giants IKEA, which is set to open its first store in the Croatian capital Zagreb in spring next year.
After just 5 days since IKEA announced vacancies on its website, the furniture store has received more than 900 applications. The most applications, 256 to be exact, came in for shopkeeper positions, IKEA said. IKEA says that vacancies for jobs will close on 13 October. There are 11 positions, ranging from the shop floor to the logistics warehouse, and even in the restaurant which will be located at the store, for which 22 people will be employed. The next round of job vacancies will be announced in November with IKEA hiring a total of 200 people before the store opens next year.
