Zagreb Film Festival Opens

The 11th edition of the Zagreb Film Festival has opened in the Croatian capital on Sunday night with the screening of the Italian-Slovenian film Zoran, My Nephew The Idiot!
The film is a feature-length directorial debut by Matteo Oleotto, who also attended the festival opening at Kino Europa with four Mostra awards under his belt, including the Audience Award at the International Film Critics’ Week. This year, the main competition programme includes eleven feature-length fiction films, ten short fiction films and twelve documentary films in the international competition and nine films of new Croatian authors in Checkers program. The films will be screened in Cinemas Europa and Tuškanac, and in Zagreb Puppet Theater.
Zagreb Film Festival closes on 27 October after screening over 100 films in nine film programmes. Around 100 directors, actors, producers and filmmakers from across the world have descended on Zagreb for the festival. Check out the full programme here.
