A Croatian man who is currently in custody for charges of causing grievous bodily harm and threatening behaviour, wants a famous singer to cough up 100,000 (13,000 EUR) kuna for his bail.
Daily newspaper Novi list reports that the man wants popular Croatian singer Marko Perković Thompson to fork out the cash for his bail, because he says it was Thompson’s music playing on the jukebox in the bar that caused a brawl to kick off. The man is charged with causing grievous bodily harm and threatening behaviour against the owner of a bar in Rijeka after a fight broke out at a bar in August. Thompson, whom the defendant says he idolizes, is renowned for his songs which are often marked with patriotism.
