Will sacked Croatian football coach Igor Štimac follow in the footsteps of his predessor Slaven Bilić and head off to coach in the east after losing the Croatia job? According to one Ukrainian agent who has arrived in Split he may well just do that.
“I can confirm that Igor has a great reputation and he will get a job with one of the strongest clubs in the Ukraine or Russia,” agent Konstantin Sosenko told daily Slobodna Dalmacija, who report that Štimac has held talks with Sosenko and a Ukrainian club representative.
Štimac was sacked last week after a 2-0 loss to Scotland and the worst record of any former coach of Croatia. Prior to taking the helm of Croatia, Štimac led Hajduk Split, Cibalia and Zagreb in brief spells in the Croatian domestic league. Bilić, who is now at Turkish club Besiktas, left to take over Lokomotiv in Moscow after he ended with Croatia.
