Although Croatia’s Tottenham Hotspur target Alen Halilović was the player on everyone’s lips ahead of the FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE, it has been Red Bull Salzburg’s Ante Roguljić who has shone in what so far has been an average display by Croatia after the first two group matches of the tournament.
Croatia face Uzbekistan later today (18:00), with a win assuring the Croatians a place in the second round. Roguljić, who scored the winner against Panama (1-0) earlier in the week to give Croatia their first points, is confident his side can advance out of the group stages.
“We believe we can advance to the second round. We came here to do something, especially after we lost the first match. The win (against Panama) gave us confidence and we are more than ready for Uzbekistan ” said the teenage striker.
