British Giants Vodafone Opens Hundreds Of Jobs In Croatia

The Italian subsidiary of British giants Vodafone, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, is doing its bit to help the ever-increasing unemployment rate in Croatia. Vodafone has opened a call centre in the Adriatic port city of Rijeka.

The call centre, which currently has over 160 employees, plans to have around 200 employees by the end of the year, with a further 200 jobs forecasted to be opened up in the future. Vodafone’s Rijeka call centre is offering workers fixed one-year contracts, writes Novi list, with workers on 22 kuna (just under 3 euros) an hour, plus transport costs.

Call centre agents working for Vodafone in Rijeka will be servicing Vodafone’s Italian clients. The main reason for the shift from Italy to Croatia is costs, with Croatian market salary rates lower than in Italy.
