Croatia’s Clash with Iceland Sells Out in 3 Hours in Reykjavík

Iceland football fans have been enyoing their best period in a long time with their side qualifying for a World Cup play-off match against Croatia next month.
Evidence of how much support the side has came on Tuesday when tickets to the first leg match against Croatia on November 15 at Laugardalsvöllur stadium (above) in Reykjavík went on sale. In just 3 and a half hours all tickets for the match had been sold. Tickets went on sale at 4 am and had sold out by 7:30 am, reports mbl.is.
The second game will be played in Zagreb four days later, with the Croatian FA hoping for a sell-out also. Croatia’s last qualifier at home against Belgium attracted just 12,000 fans, a record low for qualifying matches at Maksimir Stadium. The winner over two legs will qualify for the World Cup in Brazil next year.
