Arctic Like Conditions to Greet Croatia in Iceland

The Croatian football team will be greeted by uncustomary conditions next Friday when they take on Iceland in an all important World Cup play-off match.
The first leg will be played at Reykjavík’s Laugardalsvöllur stadium on 15 November, and if weather forecasts and a photo posted on Facebook this week are anything to go by, it wont be easy for Niko Kovač’s men. Meteorologists are expecting temperatures to fall to -7 on the night, with rain, sleet and 50km/p/h winds. Snow has already fallen this week in Reykjavík, covering the ground with a nice blanket yesterday. Kovač though wont be making any excuses.
“If you’re not 100% and your head is not right then even the sun can bother you,” said Kovač, adding that the conditions will not be used as an excuse.
