Renowned Spanish magazine Don Balon have traditionally released their annual 100 best young football players in the world list in November, but that duty has now gone to portal 101greatgoals.com after Don Balon got into financial trouble. This year two Croats have made the list…
All players born after 1 January 1992 were eligible for this years list, with Dinamo Zagreb’s Alen Halilović (17) and Inter Milan’s Mateo Kovačić (19) both being named among the best young footballers in the world in 2013.
“It seems that the new Luka Modrić will end up at Tottenham this summer, but according to the latest news, Bayern are now in the hunt for him. He is the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Croatian league and the youngest debutant for Croatia,” wrote 101greatgoals.com about Halilović, before talking about Kovačić’s talent, comparing the Inter playmaker with Andrea Pirlo and Robert Prosinečki.
