As soon as next month, passengers on flights leaving and entering Croatia will no longer here the announcement “please turn off all your electronic devices” on the PA after the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) ruled that passengers on all European flights will now be able to use their mobile devices in-flight…
“This is a major step in the process of expanding the freedom to use personal electronic devices on-board aircraft without compromise in safety,” EASA Executive Director Patrick Ky, before adding that the EASA were looking in to ways to “certify the use of mobile phones on-board aircraft to make phone calls.”
The change, which is reportedly expected to happen as soon as next month, will see the possibility of passengers to also use personal electronic devices (PED) such as tablets, smartphones, e-readers and mp3 players in-flight. The EASA said that larger items, such as laptops, will need to be stored during takeoff and landing.
