Close to half, 43% to be exact, of Croatian citizens who live off the money they earn, either from their salary or pension, receive less than 2,500 kuna (330 euro) a month..
The average salary in Croatia currently is 5,500 kuna (720 euros) a month, with just 18% of the 2.7 million citizens who receive either a salary or pension earning more than that a month. Only 0.6% take home a salary of more than 16,000 kuna (2,100 euros) a month. There are 167 people in Croatia who legally have been registered with salaries of more than 100,000 kuna (13,100 euros) a month, reports daily Jutarnji list.
