Strong bura winds, temperatures just hovering above zero and snowfall greeted Dalmatians at the start of a new week…
Although officially not yet winter, the first snow fall of the season was reported on the Dalmatian coast – in Makarska, Omiš, Pelješac, Mljet and even on Croatia’s sunniest island Hvar. Snow also reportedly fell overnight in Vrgorac, Imotski, Sinj and Metković in Dalmatia’s hinterland.
Forecasts for Tuesday for the hinterland is more snow, strong winds and rain, whilst temperatures on the coast in Split will struggle to reach double figures. The weather has seen the cancellation of some ferry lines connecting the islands to the mainland and complete cancellation of all catamarans.
