Pixies to Headline Croatia’s INmusic Festival

American alternative rock band Pixies are the first headline act named for the 9th INmusic Festival, which will be held at Zagreb’s Lake Jarun from 23-25 June next summer…

There were rumours floating around in the media last week that Pearl Jam, who will be touring Europe at the same time, would be named as the first headline act, but that honour has gone to the Boston 80’s legends.

The Pixies, who formed in 1986, achieved commercial success in their home country, but were significantly more successful in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe. The group disbanded in 1993, but reunited in 2004. The group is credited as having significant influence on the alternative rock boom of the 1990s. The Pixies’ legacy and popularity grew in the years following their break-up, leading to sold-out world tours following their reunion in 2004.
