The capital and largest city of Croatia has been steadily growing in popularity and in 2013 set a tourist record of itself. 808,000 tourists visited the city of 1 million throughout last year, up a massive 15% from 2012, and becoming one of the few places in Croatia that achieved double-digit growth. The city’s largest group of visitors were the Germans, followed by the Italians, the Americans, the Brits and the Japanese. Foreigners made up 649,400 of the total visitors, 17% more than the previous year.
