So which Croatian artist sold the most albums on iTunes in 2013?…
Marko Perković, better known by his stage name Thompson, a nickname given to him whilst he fought in the Croatian War of Independence originating from the Thompson submachine gun, was the most purchased Croatian artist on iTunes in 2013. Thompson’s most recent studio album “Ora et labora” was also the most sold album in Croatia out of all local and international artists.
Earlier in 2013 Thompson become the first Croatian artist to have an album at the top of the official iTunes international music charts, with his new album top of the most sold album’s list in Germany, Switzerland and Austria with the likes of the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, AC/DC and Eric Clapton.
Oliver Dragojević, with Tišina mora, was the second most sold Croatian artist on iTunes in 2013, followed by Severina (Dobrodošao u klub), Gibonni (20th Century man) and Mišo Kovač (100 Original Hits).
