Croatia has had to settle for 4th spot at the European Handball Championships held in Denmark after going down to Spain 29-28 in a close fought bronze-medal match on Sunday…
Croatia’s coach Slavko Goluža was still proud of his sides performance at the tournament, despite going home empty-handed.
“It is hard to analyse this match now in the heat of the moment. We had chances, but that is sport, we move on. We played well the whole tournament, and there is no need for tears, this is still a big result,” said Croatia’s coach after the match on Sunday afternoon.
Croatia’s top scorer in Sunday’s loss was Domagoj Duvnjak with 8 goals. Duvnjak was also confirmed today as the 2013 World Handball Player of the Year.
