Zrće beach, located in Novalja on the northern Adriatic island of Pag, renowned for hosting crazy after beach parties and famous DJs from all over the world, is the closest thing to Ibiza in Croatia. The wild parties, and all that is associated with them, are not everyone’s cup of tea on the island, and with summer just around the corner, the Novalja Council have decided to set some rules this year for arriving party-goers..
From this summer a new code of conduct will be in place on Zrće beach. Walking around the town in swimming togs or bathing suits, nudity outside of the nudist beach, lying or sleeping in public spaces, alcohol consumption in public places, throwing garbage or cigarette butts and being rowdy will not be tolerated, and offenders will be warned before facing 1,000 kuna fines (130 EUR).
Mayor Ante Dabo believes that informing tourists, and warning first offenders, of the new code of conduct will result in fewer cases this summer.
