For three days New Zealander Andrew Lang and his family, including a three-month old toddler, have been living on board a yacht in a shipyard on the Croatian island of Ugljan in the Zadar archipelago….
Lang’s yacht, which he captains, was about to be lowered into the sea earlier this week, when a police blockade closed the shipyard. Special forces arrived at the Nauta Lamjana early on Monday to ensure newly appointed receiver Alen Khan, was able to enter the premises of the bankrupt company. Scuffles with police ensured as shipyard workers opposed to Khan tried to break the cordon.
Expecting to sail out on Monday, Lang and his family cancelled the apartment they were staying in and since then have been residing on the boat. Among other yachts stuck in the shipyard was the Montenegrin “Anabell II”, reports daily Slobodna Dalmacija.
