The Heritage Museum in the northern Adriatic town of Rovinj will play host later this month to an exhibition of one of the most famous surrealist artists of the 20th century….
The Salvador Dali exhibition will open on 25 April and run to 5 October, will feature prints from two of Dali’s most extensive collections -“The Biblia Sacra” from the 1967, and 130 prints from the “Divine Comedy” from the 1964.
Dali’s graphic works were extremely extensive (over 1,700 works), which were created in a variety of graphic techniques: gravure printing, engravings, woodcuts, lithographs, and mixed media. Dali (1904 – 1989), was a prominent Spanish Catalan surrealist painter and skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931. Dalí’s expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.
