Largest Aquarium in Croatia Opens Near Split

The largest marine aquarium in Croatia has opened in Vranjic near Solin just north of Split on the weekend…
The aquarium, which is more than 800 square meters with 400,000 liters of seawater, is complete with flora and fauna that represents the rich Croatian seabed and displayed more than 80 different species of fish for Saturday’s opening, which will grow to 130 various species, including sharks, a stingray, a large moray, moray eels and lobsters. More than a million euro has been invested into the new aquarium.
The Vranjic aquarium over takes an aquarium in Dubrovnik, which had between 60,000 and 70,000 litres of sea water, as the largest in the country as is expected to attract tourists and school trips from all over the country.
