If Croatian football fans in Croatia thought that they had seen the back of Igor Štimac after the former national team coach was sacked when Croatia lost to Scotland 2-0 in the group stages of World Cup qualifying, then yesterday they were mistaken, after Štimac was named in state broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision’s (HRT) line-up for Brazil…
Štimac, who has gone down statistically as the worst Croatia coach in history, will be part of HRT’s studio team during the World Cup in Brazil. HRT on Monday presented their team, who will be led by commentator Drago Ćosić.
“In the Zagreb studio there will be a collection of great football experts and journalists, including Igor Štimc, Robert Prosinečki, Elvis Scoria and Anton Samovojska”, Ćosić said.
HRT will show all 64 matches live, and will have a team of 150 working on the ‘Brazil 2014’ project, including 26 based in Brazil.
